When you have a family who supports you on your quest for fast-food glory, you love them.

And when the holidays arrive, the passion in your heart compels you to try to show them how much they mean to you.

So, just like we've done every holiday season since we started, we got gifts for our loyal kinfolk. (In the spirit of the season, we're not telling what they are. But, we will tell you that they're packed with love and wrapped and waiting for you to open today.)

(And if the unthinkable happens and you can't come feel our holiday love in person today, reply to this email and tell us why. We ordered a bunch of extras that we'll mail to the kinfolk with good excuses for not being able to celebrate the holidays with their fast-food family.)

Remember, you've got to bring your own print-out of this newsletter. (No copies or forwards.) Violators aren't just subject to being ejected from the restaurant without a gift. They're subject to Owen, our Back Bay cashier. Owen isn't just the best there is at hustling house-ground steak. He also assembled every single one of our gifts by hand last night. It's that kind of commitment to the holidays that makes him the perfect man to protect this house from any Grinch who tries to take advantage of our feelings of holiday love.

Then, bring in your receipt from your online donation anytime today, Friday December 18th, and we'll blend you up a free eggnog shake. P.S. While you'll feel the warmth of the holidays when you open our gift, we can give you something else today that's even warmer. Yes, after heeding the calls of our kin every winter, we're finally serving homemade soup. So today, our new seasonal veggie is homemade butternut squash soup. We make it with squash, Fuji apples, Bartlett pears and a dollop of chive sour cream.
