newsletter #73 - Harvey & Hingham

Hey Everyone,

Our family has voted, we figured out how to make a blender run on car batteries, and the sign guys stuck the huge picture of our champ's face on the side of our milkshake-making-monster-truck.

So, that means the 28-year-old ice cream truck that we got from a customer in exchange for free food for life (and $1,500), has a name and is now street-ready.

And it's named and ready thanks to our family member, Derrick.

But, our truck, Harvey, isn't the only beautiful, new thing we're welcoming into our lives right now.

In just a week, we're opening our 7th baby at the Derby Street Shoppes in Hingham. Yes, that means on Thursday, June 24th, we'll officially be grinding locally-raised, all-natural steak on the South Shore. And as always, we'll be inviting you to a free, all-you-can-eat, pre-opening celebration. (Since we're scared it'll be too far away for lots of you guys, we'd really appreciate if you'd spread the word to your South Shore-dwelling friends so that they'll come by on Wednesday night for free burgers, shakes and fries.)

And for one lucky family member, Wednesday night will only be the appetizer in a beautiful, new life. Like we do with every new b.good baby, we're giving away burgers for life. (Yes, one burger a day in Hingham for as long as you walk this Earth.)

Just tell us why you'll be our "cousin" and you may never have to pay for house-ground burgers again.

To celebrate the birth of two new babies (Harvey and Hingham), we're blending free strawberry-banana shakes for our kinfolk today with a purchase. To sip on yours, just print this email (or show it to us on your phone), come see us anytime today, June 17th, AND BUY ANY BURGER, SANDWICH, OR SALAD.

No copies or forwards. Violators aren't just subject to paying for their shake. They're subject to Jake, our cashier who now has the greatest summer job of all time - driving around in an ice cream truck giving out free shakes. As the key-master of a weird, flame-covered truck with a huge picture of somebody's face on it, Jake is well equipped to chase down any freeloaders with the cajones to try to impersonate our kinfolk.

As always, if you know anyone who likes ice cream trucks, consuming free burgers for the rest of their days, or just wants to be loved like family, forward this and tell them to join ours.

P.S. If you want to meet baby Harvey in person, he'll be blending shakes in front of b.good Mass Ave today from 11am to 1pm. And tomorrow, he'll be at b.good Harvard Square from 2-6pm. Our guys in the square are so excited about his arrival that they're actually throwing a party with a live DJ, food give-aways, and giving away "secret shakes" concocted by this shake blending savant.

P.P.S. And if you can't make it to either of those, we'll bring baby Harvey to you. Just email Jake, our very own ice cream man, and invite him to pull up in front of your office, school or party.

P.P.P.S. We just harvested the Swiss chard on our Brookline roof this morning. And we'll be serving it up free (sauteed with a little garlic and oil) in Brookline, while it lasts. There was a lot up there… so, we should have enough for a few days.
