My b.good: Harvard

your cart name: Michael J. Fox Without Meds Shake Cart

Why:
They say laughter is the best form of therapy....so maybe Michael J. can see the humor in his tragic illness and turn those shakes into milkshakes, kind of like taking the lemons and making lemonade.
-- 2008-05-10 14:27:49

My b.good: Dartmouth

My b.good: Dartmouth

your cart name: Papageorgio

Why:
It's namesake, the king of cool, Nick Papageorgio rolled all over Vegas bringing good fortune and good times to everyone he encountered. A mobile shake wagon!? I predict this little guy to do exactly the same. Wheels like a thouroughbred. Too bad it wasn't made in Yuma. If you don't know what I'm talking about then, I'm sorry. I can't help you.
-- 2008-05-05 08:22:58

My b.good: NewburySt

your cart name: shimmy shakin'

Why:
I think the name should be shimmy shakin' because b.good's shakes taste so good you are able to shimmy your way all through town. They give you the energy to shimmy on the dance floor and break out some moves. Also you will have no fat shakin with you when you shimmy because there so GREAT for you!
-- 2008-05-03 17:31:53

My b.good: Harvard

your cart name: El Macho

Why:
his shake cart will have serious issues if you don't name it El Macho. I mean, honestly, you take a bad*ss car like El Tio and expect a puny little eco-friendly sidewalk capable cart without even the ego-aggrandizing addition of a license plate to carry on its legacy!? By keeping the "El ____o" form, El Macho is a tribute to the Holy Grail of company vehicles. Furthermore, the "Macho" part serves two functions. First, the use of Macho pays tribute to the butt-kicking, chivalrous, rugged, temperamental, courageous, and sexy flame covered vehicle that El Tio grew into. (Seriously, you gotta be a bad*ss to have flames) By doing this, the cart will hopefully outgrow its inferiority complex and be the second stud to serve the family, a "Chewbacca" or "Arthur Fonzarelli" if you will, instead of the wimpy little brother we family members always have to protect and then have no time to do anything else, especially eat El Guapos with sweet potato fries and a mango shake. Second, this cart is a smoothie making machine, and in Spanish one might call it "El Machino", but you can't call it anything resembling "machine," the antonym of the real.food.revolution. But if you shorten it to "Macho" you get a name that not only fits the "El _____o" framework and gives this shake-maker a soul, but also symbolizes this bad-boy's purpose, past, personality, and place in our family.

My b.good: Harvard

your cart name: La Diablita

Why:
La Diablita means the little "She-devil", which is what this baby is. She is curvy, flaming and--quite literally--hell on wheels. Sort of like Roseanne Barr in that horrid 80s movie of the same name...
-- 2008-05-03 00:09:09

My b.good: Harvard

-- 2008-05-02 17:35:13

My b.good: NewburySt

your cart name: Moova N. Shaker

Why:
Moova N. Shaker was my college roommate in the 70's. She was an activist protesting the war and she believed in "free love". She would love to have a machine that would promote "make shake, not war" and "love the shake you're with". Feel free to take liberty molding this story to your liking. Moova would dig that.
-- 2008-05-02 07:21:13

My b.good: Dartmouth

-- 2008-05-01 12:18:49

My b.good: Dartmouth

your cart name: Caliente Carro, Frio Batido

My b.good: Brookline

your cart name: La Tia or La Prima

My b.good: Brookline

your cart name: b.liciously good

Why:
For "branding"/free marketing reasons. That is, to tie in with the b.good brand restaurant
-- 2008-04-30 17:26:02

My b.good: Brookline

your cart name: Terremoto

Why:
The Spanish word for earthquake, Terremoto lends many qualities to the new beautiful, flame-covered shake-cart. 1) what creates more shakes than an earthquake? 2) it's a spanish name. Keep it in the family 3) "moto" sounds like it's mobile, you know, like a cart. 4)the name sounds dangerous, like the flames on the side of the cart 5) it can easily become shortened with a nickname, Terry, of course.
-- 2008-04-30 17:05:36

My b.good: Brookline

your cart name: Better Looking Kelis

Why:
'Cause your milk shake cart brings all the boys (and girls) to the yard without being so snooty about it.
-- 2008-04-30 16:10:28

My b.good: Dartmouth

your cart name: Heaven On Wheels

Why:
Well, the cart has flames on it, so you'd think it'd be called "Hell on Wheels." But, with the passing away of El Tio, the name is a throwback to her, and it refers to the "heavenly" taste of your shakes. Plus, a little irony is good every not & then.
-- 2008-04-30 16:03:19

My b.good: NewburySt

your cart name: el Teenio

Why:
It's a teenie version of el Tio
-- 2008-04-30 13:24:46

My b.good: Harvard

your cart name: Auntie Lou Lou

Why:
When I was a kid it seemed we lived in the car, being driven to soccer practice, baseball practice, etc. My mother would always stop enroute to get herself a milkshake (and nothing for me and my three brothers). She explained she was only getting a shake because the doctor told her she had to drink more calcium, which we naturally assumed was only found in milkshakes. So I think you should name this car after my Mom and let me catch up on all those missed milkshakes. And just so we know who's Mom we're talking about, the members of the B. Good family can call her what my cousins call her - Auntie Lou Lou.
-- 2008-04-30 13:03:30

My b.good: Harvard

your cart name: Primo Leche

Why:
My main goal in choosing this name was to preserve the memory of El Tio, whose memory will live on in the parking spots on Dunster Street. As I wanted to keep it in the family, I chose the name Primo Leche. Although the translation, Cousin Milk, leaves something to be desired, the spanish flows smoothly and Primo brings to mind associations with "best", or "first". I believe this name is perfect for a new milkshake cart, while still honoring the leagcy of El Tio.
-- 2008-04-30 12:43:59

My b.good: Harvard

your cart name: A Mover and A Shaker

Why:

your cart name: El Tio Too

Why:
I like it!
-- 2008-04-30 12:10:42

My b.good: NewburySt

your cart name: Mui

Why:
It's actually the name of my co-worker and I always thought it was unique and beautiful. Actually, Mui (Pronounced like boy with an 'm') means "beautiful blossom." I know, I know - doesn't quite go with the flames on the cart but shh... nobody needs to know what it really means ;-). "El/La Mui"(and yes, even my co-worker) can kick some real ass!
-- 2008-04-30 12:03:19

My b.good: Dartmouth

your cart name: The Puree Blenderossa

Why:
In honor of its hot car heritage and the coolness it brings to the streets, "The Puree Blenderossa" combines the methods to make a great shake and one of the coolest vehicles to ever cruise on the hot Miami Vice set.
-- 2008-04-30 11:58:26

My b.good: NewburySt

your cart name: El Drinko

Why:
To never forget El Tio, and it makes drink. Just saying the name sounds cool, and instills fear in other drink making carts powered by boat batteries. Say it out loud. El Drinko...
-- 2008-04-30 11:47:08

My b.good: Dartmouth

your cart name: Slater, the Greater Shaker Maker!

Why:
Two reasons: -This cart not only makes shakes, it BLASTS OUT FAT BEATS, which turns the average passerby into a B. Good loving booty-shaker! -Tribute to A.C. Slater, 80's heartthrob and "cool kid" from Saved by the Bell (who was nonetheless nearly as weird as the rest of the gang) Another variation: Judy, the booty shaker maker ("come get your shake on!")
-- 2008-04-30 11:41:02

My b.good: Dartmouth

your cart name: B. Good's carro caliente, leche fría

Why:
Translation.....B.Good's hot cart cold milk. Why? why not!
-- 2008-04-30 11:36:58

My b.good: Harvard

your cart name: Sobrina

Why:
It means "niece" in Spanish. And it seems like she is a small version of El Tio (her uncle!) A small, cute version. The little one who tries to walk in her wise old uncle's footsteps. And wise she is for choosing shakes as the focal point of her existence!
-- 2008-04-30 11:18:08

My b.good: NewburySt

your cart name: El Tio Chiquita

Why:
Although the tragic loss of El Tio was inevitable, her amazing legacy does not have to end there. Chiquita El Tio means "Little El Tio". She is an offspring of El Tio so let's let El Tio's legacy live on through Chiquita's life. Let's let El Tio be immortal, not just in our memory but in her descendant Chiquita El Tio.
-- 2008-04-30 11:14:15

My b.good: NewburySt

your cart name: El Tio on 'Lil Wheels

Why:
keeping the memory of El Tio alive!!
-- 2008-04-30 11:12:06

My b.good: Dartmouth

your cart name: Magellan

Why:
Magellan was a famous explorer who employed many a "cart"ographer aboard his voyages. He circumnavigated the Earth, for heaven's sake! Image what he could've done with a less unwieldy method of conveyance, say a cart!? Fueled by mango shakes, this Magellan character would've circumnavigated time itself! Plus, your cart can now travel anywhere, just like Magellan. So there.
-- 2008-04-30 11:03:57

My b.good: Brookline

your cart name: Alma Del Tio

Why:
I am sorry for the loss of such a well-adorned bastard of a vehicle. The black paint on the hood looks like it might've been a suitable surface to cook burgers upon in the sweltering summer heat. Although I'm sure this was never done, for sanitary reasons, its conjures up the raw, rough-riding spirit that El Tio seemed to represent. El Tio also seemed to have an essence of badassness, utility and innovation that should never die. Seeing how the spirit of El Tio is now embodied in the portable, block-rocking milkshake launcher that hath no name, I suggest dubbing this creation "Alma Del Tio" which means (according to Babel Fish) "Spirit of Tio". If you don't use this name, you can always use it on a temporary cover-up of the b.good sign on the Brookline restaurant, just to scare Anna's Taqueria into thinking that a rival burrito place was staring at it menacingly from sort of across the street. Best Regards (and thanks for all awesome chicken sandwiches), Chris Springer
-- 2008-04-30 10:56:34

My b.good: Brookline

your cart name: El Primo

Why:
First off, "primo" means cousin, as in the son of your uncle, or "tio". Plus, calling something Primo is sweet, almost like calling it "numero uno", but without all the pompous-ness of calling it "numero uno." How are those shakes? "El Primo, amigo!"
-- 2008-04-30 10:51:02

My b.good: Dartmouth

your cart name: Wild Thing

Why:
Just because it's small doesn't mean it has small ideas; Wild Thing is ready to party, ready to fly, ready to get stupid!

your cart name: tio jr.

Why:

-- 2008-04-30 10:48:52

My b.good: Dartmouth

your cart name: Hey Ya

Why:
Because the cart "shakes it like a polaroid picture" and the shakes are "cooler than bein' cool (ICE COLD!)"
-- 2008-04-30 10:48:11

My b.good: Dartmouth

your cart name: El Diablo or Aunt Lilly

Why:
El Diablo because the flames remind you of the devil, and because the shakes are devilishly good. Also, it's a tribute to the Spanish name of the departed El Tio. Aunt Lilly because El Tio means uncle in Spanish (little confusing because we call cars female in English but "she" had a male name). Anyway, my Aunt Lilly was someone we visited in New York. She was always the greatest host. She always had numerous family members hanging out at her apartment, even though she wasn't well-off by any means. She always greeted us with Chinese bao (pork buns) and sodas and different kinds of dim sum, fresh from the local Chinese bakery. I associate her with good food, good hospitality, and that warm feeling you get when the two are in the room together.
-- 2008-04-30 10:48:01

My b.good: Brookline

your cart name: La tia fruity shaker

Why:
A pitiful attempt to continue the lineage of the El tio s.c.d. La tia is Spanish for "aunt," and what could be more authentically '70s than a shaken booty? And what is more B.good than a fruit shake?
-- 2008-04-30 10:41:00

My b.good: Dartmouth

your cart name: El Niño

Why:
C'mon, this spawn of El Tio is the Christ Child. Immaculately conceived (I hope) and diminutive in size, but born ready to go forth and spread the b.good gospel across this land. And, if you reckon it can take to the Charles somehow, it can even walk on water.
-- 2008-04-30 10:31:19

My b.good: Brookline

your cart name: El Sobrino

Why:
As El Tio (the uncle) moves on, El Sobrino (the nephew) must continue the legacy
-- 2008-04-30 10:30:52

My b.good: Brookline

your cart name: Mezcladora

Why:
In honor of El Tio, This mini shake station must be named in Spanish. Mixer in spanish is mezclador, and well since this shake maker is clearly peite, I must nameg give her an "a" on the end!
-- 2008-04-30 10:28:46

My b.good: Dartmouth

your cart name: The Fireplug

Why:
Much like the refreshing feeling that jumping in an illegally opened fire hydrant provides on a hot summer day, The Fireplug will bring refreshment to the parched, overheated masses of our steamy city.

My b.good: NewburySt

your cart name: roller girl

Why:
when i saw this contest i thought "shake your money maker." So I did. I shook my money maker. after a bit of that, i thought "shakin money-maker" (what i was doing) but then it was like ohhh it sounds like "shake and money-maker" and i thought that makes sense because it makes shakes and money (through the shakes of course) and then i thought the wheels ... the wheels, man. so then i thought a girl on wheels and remembered a little movie called boogie nights. hence "roller girl" she's shakin, and makin' money

Why:
The new el tio!
-- 2008-04-30 09:56:41

My b.good: Harvard

your cart name: Helen Hunter

Why:
She's just that beautiful. Also, my grandmother of the same name would be proud to have such a legacy; she's ninety-year-old vet whose mind is still as sharp as ever. A family story goes this way: When my mother was a young girl, my grandfather and some guy named Joe had gone out fishing (that is, drinking) the night before. The next morning, my mom comes down and tells my grandmother that "Dad and Joe want some breakfast." "Tough," she says. "Yeah, dad and Joe Tough say they want some breakfast." 'Joe Tough' he was forever after, but tough has always been a grandma trait and trademark. What better name for the resurrection of a fine gal like 'Uncle Tio'? A name with a little history, beauty, and spice.

My b.good: Dartmouth

your cart name: el shake-o

Why:

-- 2008-04-30 09:49:38

My b.good: Dartmouth

your cart name: Ice Hot Shake-stah Wagon

Why:
Other than the fact that I like how it sounds.... Ice - Refers to the stuff you need to make the shakes and also the coolness of them Hot - Refers to the shakes' awesomeness while providing an oxymoron to the aforementioned 'Ice' Shake-stah - Because you need to mention how the cart is for shakes while at the same time drawing attention to the ever-so-not-sexy Boston accent Wagon - Because 'wagon' sounds cooler than 'cart' Okay now say it out loud. Ice Hot Shake-stah Wagon. How can you NOT love saying that? I'm sure the people at IHOP went through the same reasoning when they came up with 'Rooty Tooty Fresh 'N Fruity.' It's advertising at its best!
-- 2008-04-30 09:49:12

My b.good: Harvard

your cart name: El Ombre

Why:
Partly to commemorate the memory of El Tio by going along with another Spanish name, I propose...El Ombre. It rolls of the tongue and sounds pretty badass, as any car with new painted flames and a bumpin' stereo system should be. El Ombre. You don't want to mess with this car.
-- 2008-04-30 09:48:09

My b.good: Harvard

your cart name: Hephaestus

Why:
Hephaestus (pronounces Hef- ESS- tus) is the Greek God of fire, especially the blacksmith's fire, and is the patron of all craftsmen. He is also the god of volcanoes. Heph's story is an interesting, if somewhat strange one. He is known as the son of Zeus and Hera, although Zeus had nothing to do with it: Heph was conceived without male fertilization. (Does this remind you of anything? Our beloved girl El Tio is followed by this little guy?) Hephaestus was a great craftsman, and fashioned many wonderful things for the other gods. He made thunderbolts for Zeus, weapons and shields for the other gods, and for Eros (also known as Cupid) he fashioned those lovely arrows we all hear about. And for Helios, the sun god, Heph built the most amazing flaming chariot for him to fly across the fly each day with the rising of the sun (perhaps in homage to his momma, El Tio?). As you can see, the parallels between this shake cart and the Greek god Hephaestus are numerous. As the son of the lately departed El Tio, Heph will carry on the tradition of flame decals and delicious food. Just as Hephaestus fashioned lightning bolts and Cupid's arrows, this shake cart will create the famed B.Good shakes (which have been known to act as lightning bolts of energy, or Cupid's love arrows when necessary). Only a name of such myth and stature is appropriate for this magnificently efficient shake cart. Through Hephaestus, the legend of El Tio shall live on.

your cart name: Shaken Babe B.Good Cart

Why:
well, it's kinda un-PC, but maybe free ice cream delites will diffuse any bad behavior, by parents AND children, and we'll all live harmoniously ever after. it's for the good of society, really.

your cart name: La Sobrina

Why:
Well, when my uncle spawned a small, cute version of himself, albeit in female form, I gained a niece, so the name La Sobrina seems appropriate.

your cart name: The Shakester

Why:
Well to be honest, my first thought was "Shart", but I recommend you don't go there. I think the name Shakester gets the point across pretty well, while acknowledging that while it may qualify as a Speedster, it certainly won't slow you down - especially when using non-fat frozen yogurt and skim milk.

your cart name: Tiolito

Why:
My Spanish is as rusty as the late El Tio, but I think it translates to "Little Tio". And when a great and honored member of the family passes, what better tribute than to name the new baby after that family member? I mean, yeah, you could go with "El Sobrino" ("The Nephew") but that's derivative. That's not honoring the original. And "Tiolito" is more fun to say aloud. Go ahead, say it. Tiolito. See?

your cart name: De Leche Shake Rattle & Roll Mobile

Why:
It makes shakes. If it's like any other cart in the world, one of those wheels will rattle, and of course, it rolls. The "de leche" pays homage to it's spanish prececessor.

your cart name: La Bomberita

Why:
It means "little fire-fighter" in Spanish, keeping up with the theme from her mother (aunt?) El Tio. She's flame-streaked, she's quick, and she provides us cool relief from even the hottest of days.

My b.good: Harvard

your cart name: huelita

Why:
Well, you referred to your car as a girl; so I was thinking little girl should be incorporated into the name. It's a shake cart, huelo is the spanish word for ice; adding it "ita" generally means little girl. So, in an entirely made up name, it's little ice girl. Which sounds more like a name than any play on helado (spanish word for ice cream) that I could come up with.

My b.good: Harvard

your cart name: Fiery Shaker

Why:
In the fairly obvious sense, the "fiery" refers to the flames emblazoned on the side of the cart, and "shaker" because it is a shake-maker. However, further into the meaning of this name, one is met with connotations of the shakers, who attempted to create a utopia (who doesn't like to imagine utopia while sipping on a milkshake?), and also of shaking things up a bit in life by getting up, out, and moving around this summer. Fiery also brings connotations of being high-spirited and passionate. Fiery Shaker embodies the perfect world, getting out and becoming active, and sharing a passion for life, all while sipping on a wonderful milkshake from b.good.

My b.good: Harvard

your cart name: El Sobrino

Why:
It could be El Tio's favorite family member--his little nephew. The connection between then has always been very strong. From the time when El Sobrino was very small El Tio looked out for him, showed him he way of the shake, and occasionally got him beer for his under aged friends. This is a fitting tribute to the best uncle ever. RIP El Tio.

My b.good: Dartmouth

your cart name: b.shaked (not stirred)

Why:
Because not only does it reflect on the parent name "b.good", but it also cleverly depicts the fact that milkshakes should be blended, and not hand-stirred, because stirring a shake together would cause nothing but a lumpy mess, which could never compare to the smooth goodness that one can expect when ordering a b.good shake!
